Here are few tips which would guide you to create an impressive resume which is your first and sometimes the last chance to make an impression with the prospective employer

    A resume should be perfectly formatted – there is no room for inconsistent font, non-indented bullets, excess spacing, inconsistent alignment, etc. A well formatted resume is the first impression & can interest the reader whereas a poorly formatted resume may be a put off for the employer and may convey careless and unprofessional attitude. Many times, the formatting in word document goes for toss if the employer is using older versions of word. It is recommended that you share the resume in .pdf form to avoid formatting mess.

The subject line should contain the words ‘resume’ or ‘CV’ along with the name or brief description of the job opening. This will further ensure that employer knows the content of the emails and reads it. The file name of the resume should contain the name of the candidate with the words resume/ CV.

    The cover email should make a reference to the attached resume, mention the profile of the candidate in brief, - (education, experience, etc) reference to the opening, the job profile preference (say, internal audit, statutory audit, tax, finance, accounts, etc) if you are emailing the resume for not a particular opening, name of the candidate and the contact number.
