• Free Webinar - PE VC Dealscape by Economic Times
    October 27, 2020

Concerns are being felt by PE/VC firms about the market sentiment, especially in India, with respect to the private equity asset class.
How has your approach to deal-making changed following the COVID crisis? What are the lessons learned that are changing established best practices?
Are the LP expectations and need for transparency changing?
Has the pandemic opened up new vistas of aggressive deal-making, making future block-buster exits more probable?
2019 was a great year for PE investments in India. 2020 has been volatile, but there are still some sectors that have grown. How has this impacted your strategy?
Has COVID led to the majority focus on certain sectors? What are the sectors you are focusing on now, and how are they different from your earlier focus areas?
Growth capital vs buyouts? PIPE deals vs credit vs private equity? What are the trends observed by industry players?
What's the trend being seen by GPs across different asset classes within PE? growth funds, RE, credit, B etc.
How are the dynamics of fundraising changing in India?
What are some barriers/challenges being faced by the GPs in deal execution? How are you tackling these?
Do we see a shift in valuations?
Is the landscape of exits changing? Has COVID impacted exit plans?

  • Survey Report on Increments: Economic Times
    August 25, 2020

Average increments in India fell to 3.6% in 2020, from 8.6% in 2019: Survey (2020 DTTILLP Workforce and Increment Trends Survey)
Launched in June 2020 as a B2B India-specific survey, primarily for seasoned HR professionals. About 350 organizations participated in this edition spread across seven sectors and 25 sub-sectors.
The average increment in 2020 is 7.5%. Less than 10% companies have given an increment equal to or more than 10% in 2020 and the proportion of such companies has dropped drastically since the start of the lockdown in March 2020.
Two most important factors that have affected 2020 increments are the *Timing of increments* and *The potential impact of COVID-19.*
Increments were the highest in the life sciences sector and the lowest in the manufacturing and services sector. Even the digital/e-commerce industry, which is known for giving double-digit increments, has struggled to match its past figures. Only 23% companies plan to give increments in 2021
    Other key findings:
HR teams are helping organisations save costs by: reduction in promotions; discrete bonus pay-outs; and altering HR policies, benefits and allowances.

  • Poll Results - As a Jobseeker, under which category do you belong to?
    July 01, 2020

??CareerSanta Team Conducted a Poll on LinkedIn to understand the impact of Covid19 on Job market and the results are surprising and interesting to note.
??Poll Question: If you are looking for a job, let us know under which of the four categories do you fall?

?It is surprising to note that out of the total 163 current jobseekers who participated in the poll, the  percentage of jobseekers who were unemployed even prior to the start of Covid-19 lockdown of 31% (50 out of 163) is much higher than the percentage of jobseekers who lost jobs post lockdown 20% (33 out of 163).
?One can take a cue from this that the job market has not been in a good form since beginning of 2020.  The percentage of jobseekers who resigned prior to Covid-19 without a job in hand and thereafter, couldn't get one is 14% (23 out of 163)

?Another interesting thing to note is that the out of the total jobseekers, the highest percentage is of those who are employed but want to switch to another job, being 35% (57 out of 163) in spite of this crisis situation.
??How much are these micro level poll results  reflective of the actual job market scenario at macro level with millions of jobseekers, is a food for thought.

??It makes it clear that the competition for the unemployed jobseekers is going to be intense in the scenario of limited job opportunities & tough competition from existing employed jobseekers. We personally feel that companies hiring candidates should give slightly more preference to those without a job as against those who are already working if they pass the litmus test on other parameters.
?For valuable insights on how you to find that job, follow Careersanta on LinkedIn CareerSanta team continues to conduct regular polls on LinkedIn on various topics for better understanding of both employers as well as employees.

  • Poll Results - Covid Impact on Salary figures
    July 20, 2020

CareerSanta Team Conducted a Poll on LinkedIn to understand Impact of Covid-19 on salary figures for the month of April-May 2020.
The poll was for employers as well as employees. The results we gathered are to understand the salary cut observed.
Poll Question: How has Covid impacted Salary figures for you or your employees for April-May 2020?
    1. Out of 93 people taken the poll for almost 41%(38/93) employees said that the salary remains unaltered, which shows the organization handled the situation of pandemic quite well by providing wfh and paying the staff.
    2. The salary cut was between 5 to 30% for 27%(25/93) people taking the poll which was quite acceptable from the employees looking at the situation.
    3. The salary cut beyond 30% was a little frustrating for the employees. Almost 18%(16/93) faced this.
    4. The most disheartened employees are the one which did not received the salary for the months mentioned. About 14%(13/93) did not get the salary.
